A thousand paths.
One starts at your door.
Dachstein, Gosaukamm, Bischofsmütze, Tennengebirge — four mountain ranges, over 30 marked trails, one starting point.
Where the mountains
draw closer.
From the gentle Hay Figure Trail to the legendary Stairway to Heaven on the Donnerkogel — the Lammertal is one of the most varied hiking regions in Salzburg. Families find soft alpine paths, climbers their summit, pilgrims the Salzalpensteig.
From first steps
to the summit.
Hay Figure Trail
From the village centre of Annaberg — past intricately woven hay figures, created each year at the HeuART festival. A fairy tale for children, a stroll for everyone.
High Trail & Tree Path
Connects Annaberg and Lungötz away from the road. With Kneipp pools, water mills and panels on native trees — a refreshing half-day in the heart of the valley.
Zwieselalm — In Sisi’s Footsteps
Up to 1,475 m by Donnerkogelbahn, then a gentle walk to the Zwieselalm hut, where Empress Sisi once spent the night. Panoramic views of the Dachstein glacier, Gosausee and Bischofsmütze.
Stuhlalm
One of the region’s most beloved hikes — through forest, up serpentine paths to wide, vivid green alpine meadows. Stop in at the staffed Stuhlalm hut.
Austriaweg on the Gosaukamm
The classic along the rugged rock walls of the Gosaukamm. Up to 1,475 m by Donnerkogelbahn, then via the trail to Stuhlalm and Theodor-Körner-Hütte. Sure-footedness required.
Stairway to Heaven · Donnerkogel
Four sections along steel cable to the summit of Großer Donnerkogel — crowned by the famous 40-metre Stairway to Heaven. One of the most spectacular via ferratas in the Eastern Alps.
Six hundred metres,
given to you.
The eight-seater gondola lifts you in minutes from 770 m to 1,475 m — into the heart of the alpine pastures. From there you set out on routes that take others hours to reach.
